1889
Alexander Fletcher Ferguson, a chartered accountant from Scotland, came to Bombay as a chief accountant of a merchant firm Ritchie Stewart & Co, which later became Forbes Forbes Campbell & Co Pvt. Ltd.
1893
He started to practice as a chartered accountant and was the first British Chartered Accountant to do so in India. Mr. P G Irvine, his Assistant became a partner in 1898 and the name of the firm was changed to Ferguson & Irvine.
1902
When Mr Irvine retired, this partnership was dissolved and the firm became A F Ferguson & Co with Mr. A F Ferguson and Mr. W Turner Green as partners.
1912
Mr. A F Ferguson returned to UK and commenced practice in London to open an office at 27 Old Jewry.
1925
After being joined by one of the partners of the Indian practice, the London office adopted the name Ferguson, Gilchrist & Co and moved to 10 & 12 Walbrook, London.
1954
The London Office became known as Ferguson, Rowland & Davis and shortly after moved to Bush Lane House, Cannon Street, London.
1981
The UK firm merged with Maidment & Co (formerly Maidment, Penney Quick & Co) and its name changed to Ferguson Maidment & Co.
1999
The firm acquired part of Wagner and Partners to broaden its client base.
2003
The firm continued with its expansion plans by acquiring Barsham Bradford & Hamilton, another long established firm of chartered accountants.
2013
The firm moved to its current location 167 Fleet Street London EC4A 2EA.
